FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – May 1, 2015 – Elgin, IL – John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. (JBSS) announced today that it is voluntarily recalling Fisher brand chopped walnuts packaged in 10 ounce plastic bags because some of these products may be contaminated with Salmonella.

Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

Consumers who have recently purchased the items with the BEST BY DATES listed in the table below at retail stores located nationwide and in Puerto Rico should not consume this product and should return it to the store of purchase for a full refund or replacement. The BEST BY DATES can be found on the back of the bags.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – July 30, 2015 – Deerfield, Illinois – Baxter International Inc. announced today it is voluntarily recalling one lot of intravenous (IV) solution to the hospital/user level due to the potential for leaking containers, particulate matter and missing port protectors. Baxter was made aware of these issues through customer complaints. There have been no adverse events associated with this lot reported to Baxter to date.

Leaking containers, particulate matter and missing port protectors could result in contamination of the solution. If not detected, this could lead to a bloodstream infection or other serious adverse health consequences. Injecting a product containing particulate matter, in the absence of in-line filtration, may result in blockage of blood vessels, which can result in stroke, heart attack or damage to other organs such as the kidney or liver. There is also the possibility of allergic reactions, local irritation and inflammation in tissues and organs.

0.9 % Sodium Chloride Injection, USP is indicated as a source of water and electrolytes. The lot being recalled was distributed to customers and distributors nationwide between January 22, 2015 and February 12, 2015. Customers were notified via letter that they should not use product from the recalled lot. Recalled product should be returned to Baxter for credit by contacting Baxter Healthcare Center for Service at 1-888-229-0001, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Central Time. Unaffected lots of product are available for replacement.

WASHINGTON, July 30, 2015 –  Greenland Trading Corp., a Paterson, N.J., establishment, is recalling approximately 12,672 pounds of squab (domesticated pigeon) produced in France that were not presented at the U.S. point of entry for inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. Without the benefit of full inspection, a possibility of adverse health consequences exists.

The squabs were imported from a French establishment not eligible to export meat or poultry product to the United States on June 21, 2014; August 16, 2014; and February 16, 2015. The following products are subject to recall:

  • 8.8 lb. cardboard boxes containing 12 individually plastic wrapped squab weighing less than one pound, labeled “AL MARAAI SQUAB HALAL.”

The products subject to recall bear the establishment number “79.213.004 CE” on the box containing the individual packages. They were processed by Earl Piegonneaux Fermier Du Poitou of Sauvian France. These products were shipped to port #4601, Port Newark, New York, N.Y.

The problem was discovered by FSIS investigators conducting product surveillance at Virgin World Foods, DBA/Banou International Food, in Hopyard, Calif. FSIS and the company have received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider. (more…)

Model numbers P1761, P1761W and P1761WX and serial numbers 0410215901781 through 0425214604018 are included in this recall. NVIDIA and the model and serial numbers are etched on the left side edge of the tablets. The SHIELD logo is on the back of the tablets.

The model number, date of manufacture and “Stork Craft Manufacturing (USA) Inc.” are printed on white federal label attached to the white mattress cover. The mattresses’ box has a Graco logo.

The boards were sold between January 2005 and December 2013, in eight sizes: 5 ½ x 14, 8 ½ x 11, 11 ½ x 11 ½, 11 x 17, 12 x 12, 14 x14, 17 x 17 and 17 x 23, and in various colors including white, silver, black, blue, green, pink, purple, grey and multicolor. The Quartet logo is printed on the bottom of the boards.

Description

This recall involves Jenn-Air brand single and double wall ovens, and combination microwave/wall ovens with an extendable roller rack with handle. The ovens were sold in stainless steel, oiled bronze, black and white. The Jenn-Air logo is affixed to the lower right corner of the oven door. Wall ovens included in the recall have models numbers that begin with JJW2, JJW3 JMW2 or JMW3 and a serial number beginning with a D or F.  A complete list of model and serial numbers included in this recall is on the firm’s website (http://repair.whirlpoolcorp.com). Model and serial numbers for single and double ovens are located under the control panel, and for combination ovens, the model and serial number are located near the center vent of the lower oven.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – July 25, 2015 – Cincinnati, Ohio – The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) said today it is recalling Kroger Ground Cinnamon, Kroger Garlic Powder, Kroger Coarse Ground Black Pepper and Kroger Bac’n Buds sold in its retail stores due to possible contamination from Salmonella.

A sample of Kroger Garlic Powder from a store in North Augusta, South Carolina was tested by the FDA and found to be contaminated with Salmonella. To date, no illnesses have been reported in connection with these products. Out of an abundance of caution, the company has recalled all four seasonings produced on the same equipment in the same facility.

Stores under the following names in the 31 states where Kroger operates are included in this recall: Kroger, Ralphs, Food 4 Less, Foods Co., Fred Meyer, Fry’s, King Soopers, City Market, Smith’s, Dillons, Baker’s, Gerbes, Jay C, Ruler Foods, Pay Less, Owen’s, and Scott’s.

Kroger has removed the potentially affected items from store shelves and initiated its customer recall notification system that alerts customers who may have purchased recalled Class 1 products through register receipt tape messages and phone calls.

The recalled vehicles include vehicle identification numbers (VIN) from 303194 through 305166. The VIN number is located on the rear frame tube under the rear of the box. The vehicles are green, red, vibrant red metallic, or emerald green metallic. “Arctic Cat” is printed on each side of the hood. Also 500 is printed on each side on the front fenders, HDX on each side of the rear cargo box, and “Arctic Cat” on the cargo box tail gate.
