This recall involves 2017 GT mountain bicycle models: Karakoram Sport, Karakoram Comp, Aggressor Sport, Aggressor Comp and Aggressor Expert. The bikes were sold in a variety of colors including, black, blue, gunmetal grey and neon yellow. Only models with 1) a solid black GT logo on the downtube and 2) a stem marked “Ø31.8   9-10N.m” are included in the recall. Remedy:

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycles and contact an authorized GT dealer or Cycling Sports Group to schedule a free repair of the handlebar and stem.

Orbit brand hoverboards were sold in the following six colors: black, blue, gold, green, red and white.  “Orbit” is printed on a black sticker on the underside of the hoverboard.

Description:

This recall involves Kidde NightHawk talking combo smoke/CO alarm with model number KN-COSM-IB and manufacture dates between June 1, 2004 and December 31, 2010. The alarms are hard-wired into a home’s electric power. The unit has a compartment on the back for the installation of a replaceable 9V backup battery. The alarm is white, round and measures about 5 to 6 inches in diameter. “Kidde” is engraved on the front of the alarm. “Kidde,” the model number and manufacture dates are printed on a label on the back on the alarm.

Description

This recall involves BLACK+DECKER 3-in-1 electric blower/vacuum/mulchers with model numbers BV5600, BV6000 and BV6600. The model number and “Type 1” are printed on the name plate on the right side of the motor housing. Only “Type 1” blower/vacuum/mulchers are included in this recall. They are orange with black accents, a black fan cover and a two-speed switch. They were sold with a blower tube, a vacuum tube and a reusable collection bag. Model BV6600 also has a rake attachment.

Incidents/Injuries

BLACK+DECKER has received four reports of the fan covers unexpectedly coming off and consumers receiving finger lacerations from contact with the fan. (more…)

The recall involves the 1,500 watt Patriot Power Generators. The generators were sold in black or dark blue with “Patriot Power Generator” printed on the right side of the unit. The recalled generators have serial numbers U14040001 through U14041092 and U14110001 through U14111092 printed on a sticker in the upper right hand corner of the rear panel of the unit. The generators measure about 18 inches long by 10 inches wide by 12 inches tall.

Incidents/Injuries

Lekker has received 13 reports of generator fires, two reports of generators that began to smoke and one report of an unusual noise or odor from the generator. No injuries have been reported. (more…)

This recall involves Square Grove’s Sit-Stand Converters. The model included in the recall is UPL147 and includes the freestand and clamp versions. The freestand version sits on a desk that raises and lowers a computer monitor and keyboard by 17 inches.  The clamp version functions the same, but clamps to the back of the desk.  The color of both versions is black. The dimensions for the top platform are about 24 inches in width and 16 inches in diameter. The keyboard platform dimensions are about 24 inches in width and 9 inches in diameter.  The freestanding base platform version dimensions are about 20 inches in width and 20 inches in diameter.  The clamp mount version dimensions are about 7 inches in width and 18 inches in diameter.  The words “UPLIFT DESK” are printed on the product.

Hy-Vee, Inc., based in West Des Moines, Iowa, is voluntarily recalling its frozen Hy-Vee Vegetable Fried Rice and frozen Hy-Vee Chicken Fried Rice products across its eight-state region due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. Listeria monocytogenes is an organism, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria monocytogenes infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

To date, no illnesses have been reported in connection with this product. (more…)

EFFINGHAM, S.C., PRNewswire — As part of the CRF Frozen Foods recall, McCall Farms Incorporated is notifying consumers that it is recalling Piggly Wiggly brand frozen Yellow Cut Corn due to the potential risk that it may contain Listeria monocytogenes. McCall Farms was notified by its supplier, CRF Frozen Foods, of this potential contamination. No other McCall Farms products have been affected by this recall.

Listeria monocytongenes is an organism which can cause mild to severe illness and sometimes be fatal to persons who consume contaminated food. People at greatest risk are newborn infants, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headaches, abdominal pain, stiffness and nausea, Listeria infections can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

This recall involves model year 2013, 2014 and 2015 Kubota RTV400 and RTV500 series gas-powered utility vehicles. Recalled utility vehicles come in orange and camouflage and have serial numbers ranging from 10001 to 22042 for the RTV400 and 25083 to 40991 for the RTV500. The model is on the side of the unit and on the data plate on the back of the cab, between the cab and the bed. The serial number is also on the data plate.

Kubota has received nine reports of shafts breaking, including one in which a consumer lost control of the vehicle and collided with a barbed wire fence, resulting in a cut on the arm. (more…)
